CALASYS call for contributions

Dear CALA members,

CALASYS, CALA’s institutional repository, is currently accepting applications for CALASYS Mini-Grants for the 2023-2024 year. CALASYS serves as an academic resource and repository system specifically designed to collect, organize, and centrally store academic publications, materials, and related information resources created and contributed by Chinese-American Librarians, especially CALA members, and other contributors from library and information sciences/services (LIS) and related subject fields.

Grant opportunities include but are not limited to the following:

1) CALASYS invites LIS students or recent graduates to contribute to assigned metadata projects within the scope of CALASYS. Selected contributors will each be awarded $200. If interested, please contact the CALASYS Subcommittee, indicating your interest and providing a brief statement of your experience with metadata creation, along with the following information. The application due date is January 31, 2024.

   - Your name:
   - Your title and institution (if applicable):
   - A brief self-introduction:
   - Your experience with metadata creation

2) Up to two CALA chapters that actively participate in CALASYS will be awarded $200 for contributing chapter annual conferences, and chapter poster sessions, etc., to CALASYS. Please contact CALASYS to create collections for your contributions by March 31st. Projects need to be completed by June 25th.
