CALA-SW Chapter Program at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference

The Southwest Chapter will host a program at the Texas Library Association (TLA) Annual Conference in Houston in April 18, 2012.  Our program title is Toddlers, Touch Technology, and Family Learning. The object of the topic is to develop new technology sills together in a facilitated setting for family.  The main speaker is Monica Wong, a librarian at Northwest Campus, EL Paso Community College, Texas. Monica is a CALA Southwest Chapter member.

Social Activity in the Houston Area

We are planning a gathering during the holiday season.  We hope to see as many members so we can make a plan to get the chapter developed.

Professional Activity Proposal

After Monica Wong expressed the desire of presenting their TLA program to other conferences, we did research, contacted with ALA, and proposed their program to ALA-ALSC, American Library Service to Children. ALSC will make the decision during the winter conference 2012.
