The University of Richmond in Richmond, VA is a private, highly selective residential university with a national and international profile. This position provides innovative and expert leadership in digital initiatives for the University of Richmond, working closely with faculty, departments and programs across the university to identify, transform, store and share digital works. You will develop relationships with those responsible for managing digital assets, share expertise in archiving and metadata with campus, and build strong inter-departmental working relationships. Additionally, you will work to integrate content form diverse digital projects and collections into a University Digital Library and collaborate with other library units, especially collections development and cataloging, to ensure the full range of library expertise and resources are applied to building and managing digital collections. You may also teach up to 2 courses each academic year, contingent on meeting qualifications and standards for such activities outlined by the University.

Selected individual will be knowledgeable of digital content markup and management best practices; be familiar with markup languages and related technology; and have knowledge of current and emerging digital library technologies, standards, and best practices for metadata including Dublin Core and OAI. Requires a Masters of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited program or an advanced degree in a relevant subject area and three (3) years of increasing professional responsibility, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
