LIST
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES THE COMMITTEE HAS DONE SINCE LAST REPORT:

1.       In September, our
committee had discussed the yearly plan.
We made a detailed action plan with tasks, persons in charge, deadline
and follow-up notes.  This plan covers
the work that needs to be accomplished from Oct, 2010 to May 2011.  After several revisions, the final action
plan was sent to Zhijia Shen, 2010 CALA president on September 29, 2010.

2.       In October, our
committee started our first major action, which was to revise the current application documents on CALA scholarship
webpage  (http://www.cala-web.org/node/204).

Taking consideration of convenience
and efficiency, we decided the current application procedure by postal mail is not
feasible for applicants, references and the committee after   deliberate discussions.  Therefore, a thought of revamping the current scholarship
application webpage occurred.  We decided
to pursue the possibility of online application.  After several intensive online communications,
our committee revised the following documents including application forms,
reference forms, annual announcement and application guidelines.  The final result was completed in early
December.

3.       The new 2011 CALA
scholarship application webpage was launched on December 10. The link is now available
for public view http://www.cala-web.org/node/204

At the same time, the
announcement is distributed to various to invite applicants.

Conclusion:

The seamless cooperation between web team and
scholarship committee is the key for successful revision of online scholarship
application.  The 2011 scholarship
committee is progressing well with supportive members , constructive
discussions and productive results.
