ANNUAL REPORT

LIST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES THE
COMMITTTEE HAS DONE SINCE THE LAST REPORT:

For the past year, the MW Chapter is
proud to announce a few completed and ongoing projects and achievements:

1.     
The Chapter board held its board
meeting at the beginning of the year and discussed serveral projects for the year.
The board meeting has discussed and approved the Chapter's mission statement
and student travel fund.

2.     
The MW Chapter is assisting hosting
the CALA Annual Banquet. A local committee is organized to have located an
ideal restaurant for the event. Now the registration is up and open and upto 70
people registered. The committee members are continuing working on this project
to have more people registered.

3.     
The Chapter's Annual Program is
scheduled to happen in conjuntion with ALA conference. It will be held on
Chicago Chintown Library and quite a few members are registered.

4.     
Lian Ruan, chair of relation
committee is working with UIUC to recruit and organize UIUC GSLIS for Chinese
scholars. The group will arrive in Chicago in July and will attend both ALA
conference and CALA annual banquet.

5.     
Qi Chen, the Chapter president,
together with 2 other CALA members travelled to Taiwan to delviered a 4 day
seminar on academic library management, future libraries, information and Web
2.0 application and more. The seminar received many positive comments.

6.     
Qi Chen has been working
continuously with Shanghai DongHua University for a couple of years. A contact
has been signed in May for 4 CALA members to conduct a seminar in Shanghai.
Shanghai DongHua university lbirarians are expected to attend ALA and CALA
Annual Banquet.

7.     
MW Chapter made a $500 donation to
China Earchquate Rescue.
