The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of University Libraries and Scholarly Communications. The University seeks an accomplished and visionary administrator to lead its world-class research library and build on a strong track record of innovation in providing exceptional facilities, vibrant collections, and impactful services.

 

As the head of Penn State’s national top 10 research library, the Dean has primary responsibility for strategic and operational leadership of the Libraries. As the official representative and advocate for the University Libraries and Penn State University Press, the Dean also is responsible for fostering cooperative participation in academic programs, Big Ten Academic Alliance partnership arrangements, government and grant-sponsored programs, and information resource industry relationships. The Dean is a member of the Academic Leadership Council and the University Park Council of Academic Deans.
