Ms. Tsai has been Professor/Systems Librarian at the Bucks County Community College since 1993. Her previous appointments include senior Associate Professor/Technical Services, Assistant Director of Library Services, and Assistant Professor/Cataloging Librarian (1971-1993). She worked as a Cataloging Librarian at Trenton State Collage from 1969-1970 and as a Cataloger at State University of New York at Stony Brook from 1965-1969.
Betty received her B.A. degree from the National Taiwan University in 1962, majoring in Foreign Language and Literature, and received her M.S.L.S. from Rutgers University in 1965. She is currently teaching an Integration of Knowledge course, "Food and Culture", and language classes. Ms. Tsai is very active in professional organizations such ALA, ACRL, and GODORT. She served as President of the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) from 1993 to 1994, and as President of the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) from 1987 to 1988. Betty has been honored with numerous awards.
In June of 1987, Ms. Tsai served as guest lecturer in the Department of Library Science at Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China. In addition, she has also presented papers at professional conferences and is published in several professional journals.
Ms. Tsai is a dedicated leader and librarian with outstanding contributions in the area of minority concerns and cultural diversity. She not only serves as a role model but is also an essential mentor to her colleagues.
