Western Washington University (Western) seeks an innovative, effective leader as Dean of Libraries. Western seeks candidates with a commitment to communication and collaboration and with clear vision for the future academic library and its role in the information technology, teaching, learning and research processes necessary in the 21st century. As chief academic and executive officer of the university’s libraries and a member of Western’s leadership team, the Dean reports to the Provost and is responsible for providing academic leadership and administrative management for the Libraries and its outreach efforts.
The Libraries: Western Libraries is a vibrant evolving academic library, featuring a main library encompassing two buildings totaling 200,000 square feet, a collection of over one million volumes and an acquisitions budget of nearly $2 million. Library personnel include 15 faculty and 45 staff. Recent Libraries accomplishments underscore a growing culture of innovation, diversity and inclusion and a new strategic plan will prepare the Libraries for even more innovative future growth. http://library.wwu.edu/
