The Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) Awards Committee invites you to nominate candidates for the 2010-2011 CALA Distinguished Service Award. Please send in your nomination to Jen-chien Yu, Chair of CALA Awards Committee [firstname.lastname@example.org] by Friday, March 25th, 2011.
The CALA Distinguished Service Award is given annually to individuals who consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in library and information services at the national and/or international level. Distinguished contributions and services to the advancement of Chinese-American librarianship will receive special consideration from the CALA Awards Committee. This Award is a permanent and highest recognition given by the Association. No individual can receive the award more than once. Candidates will all be evaluated equally
regardless of age, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or length of service to the profession. The candidates have to be CALA members. A list of past recipients is available at http://www.cala-web.org/node/186.
The award consist of a citation and a plaque. The 2010-2011 CALA Distinguished Service Award recipient will be honored at the 2011 CALA Awards Banquet in June 2011 during the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans.
