Call for Nominations for Editor-in-Chief, CALA's Occasional Paper Series (OPS)

Dear all CALA Members,

The CALA Publications Committee is soliciting nominations for Editor-in-Chief of the CALA Occasional Paper Series (OPS). All CALA members in good standing are eligible for nomination. The term of the editor-in-chief will start in June 2012.

The purpose of OPS is to provide an opportunity for members of the Chinese American Librarians Association to publish a peer-reviewed article on any aspect of librarianship. The CALA OPS is being indexed by EBSCO and each issue in OPS is published independently. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the directions, manuscript submission and review, and timely publication of the OPS. Currently, OPS has been published twice a year.

The Editor-in-Chief is appointed on a three-year term and can be reappointed for another term of three years. The appointment needs to be approved by the CALA Board and will be made based on the qualifications, including excellent communication skills, previous editorial experience, and evidence of established scholarship. The OPS Editor-in-Chief is required to produce at least one OPS issue per year. For detailed information about the eligibility and qualifications see the Editorial Guideline at http://www.cala-web.org/node/159.

Nominations (including the self-nominations) should be sent, together with a short description of relevant qualifications and editorial experience, to Jia Mi (jmi@tcnj.edu) or Dajin Sun (dajin.sun@yale.edu), co-chairs of the CALA Publications Committee.

The closing date for receipt of nominations is November 30, 2011.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

CALA Publications Committee
