CALA Presidential Initiative Theme
Dear
CALA Colleagues and Friends:
In the past two years, I have met with many CALA members to share
ideas and concerns to shape a platform that will make CALA better and stronger.
The
theme of the CALA's annual program, "Embracing the Changes: Diversity and Global Vision in a Digital
Age" to be held on June 26, 2011, sets the tone for the 2011-12 CALA
presidential initiatives. The speeches of the program will open the dialogue on
the theme of diversity and global reach. A series of activities/projects
will be carried out during 2011-12 period to demonstrate CALA's commitment to
taking a leadership role in promoting cultural diversity and international
collaboration in library profession. We have already lined up with a number of
corporate sponsors who support the CALA 2011 annual program and the 2011-12
CALA presidential initiatives.
Since
the ALA Mid-winter in San Diego, I have started recruiting members for the
2011-12 Presidential Initiative Taskforce. If you have good suggestions or

CALA a more intellectually and professionally vibrant place for us all.
