Position: Librarian II

Annual Salary: $48,464 - $58,906

The County of San Diego is accepting applications for Librarian II to fill positions throughout the County’s Library System. Librarian II class is responsible for providing the more difficult technical, professional, and management services; may assist with the responsibility for a major service area of a branch or library division; may serve as an adult or children’s services librarian at a regional resource library; and act as a liaison to the Friends of the Library. Employees in this class supervise professional and paraprofessional staff and may oversee a branch library or several small branches.

Eligible applicants must possess either: A master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university, or certificate of foreign equivalency AND two (2) years of full-time experience as a professional librarian; OR A maser’s degree, as previously described, AND one (1) year of full-time experience as a Librarian I equivalent to the level with the County of San Diego.
