The Publishing Group of the California Digital Library at the University of California provides cutting edge programs, services and technologies to support the scholarly communication activities of the University, its faculty and its Press. In support of this objective, the primary responsibility of this position is to architect and expand the technological infrastructure of the unit's research and online publishing services and activities. This includes, but is not limited to, providing the Java programming expertise for a core technology, the eXtensible Text Framework (XTF). In addition, the Publishing Services Architect investigates and implements algorithms, tools, and methods that make scholarly content produced by the UC academic community and CDL collections easier to publish, search, process, maintain and utilize.
