University of Oregon’s job posting for CALA website – October 17, 2018

The University of Oregon Libraries has posted a new position for eLearning and Open Educational Resources (OER) Librarian.   The eLearning and Open Educational Resources (OER) Librarian provides a broad range of services related to the University’s and the Libraries’ online education and student success initiatives. This includes providing instructional design services and workshops for faculty related to best practices in the online and hybrid learning environments, developing online learning objects to enhance students’ information literacy/research skills and serving as a library contact for assigned initiatives related to online education. The incumbent will collaborate with colleagues in the UO Libraries, the University, and across the state of Oregon to advance the adoption and creation of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and affordable course content. The incumbent also may provide guidance and referrals as appropriate to others on open licensing, copyright, and accessibility in the online education environment.

This position brings together digital scholarship with digital pedagogy through open education, digital technologies, online education, blended learning, and the integration of faculty-based digital scholarship and research into teaching and learning. The eLearning and OER Librarian position reports to the Head of Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) with a dotted-line report to the Libraries’ Center for Media and Educational Technologies (CMET). The position also works closely with the UO representative to OpenOregon, subject specialists, the Office of the Provost’s Teaching Engagement Program, and other campus partners.

This position is funded for two years, with a potential permanent placement based on the success of the University’s online/distance education program and the Libraries’ OER-related initiatives.  For a full job posting, including application instructions, please visit the UO Career Center Website.
